Do you need help getting noticed?

Are you struggling to get your message out?

Do you need help explaining exactly what you do, to the people who can make or break your plans?

Do you want articles about you in the media but don't know how to arrange it?

Are you too busy to produce blogs, newsletters, flyers, photos, video content or social media content?

I help business and project leaders who need to produce content for an overwhelming array of channels. I listen, and we plan and produce.

I will help you find the most effective channels and activities to reach the people who really need to know about you.

I draw on my decades of experience as a journalist, press officer and communications manager. I trained as a broadcast journalist at the BBC and produced news for 12 years. I've written feature articles for the Guardian, web content for companies and non-profits, fundraising leaflets, video scripts, press releases, ghost-blogs, annual reviews, newsletters, social media posts, produced photoshoots and countless videos.

If you could use some communications support, please get in touch so we can discuss how I can help you.

    Telling your story

You have a passion for what you do, and you want the world to feel as excited about it as you do. I will listen to you and work out the most effective way to spread your message, locally, nationally, internationally. I will find the best platforms to reach your audience and make sure your message gets to the right people.

    Getting in the media

I can plan a media campaign to raise the profile of your organisation or project. I have done this for private companies, government departments and non-profits. I love discovering untold stories and pitching them to editors. Previous clients include Oxfam, VSO, Care International, Parkinson's UK, Refuge, and Seafarers UK. I have successfully secured coverage on the BBC, Sky News, ITV News, national dailies, local and specialist press.

    Writing your content

Everyone tells you you should be blogging, tweeting, posting on social media, engaging with your customers - but it's not something you really enjoy doing. Let me take that task off your hands. You tell me what you want to talk about and I plan and write a series of articles that can be published weekly or monthly, as a newsletter, blog post, social media post and if it is of wider interest, as a press release.

  • Who do I help?

    My clients tend to be:

    • Business owners who are scaling up and want help reaching the audiences that will bring them success
    • Experts who have a lifetime of knowledge and they need help getting it recognised
    • People transitioning - from a corporate career to self-employment, from a salaried role to a dream business project, from employee to entrepreneur.
    • Marketing managers who need some extra help
  • How does it work?

    1

    Quick chat

We have a quick chat about your needs and I send you a questionnaire about your goals and communications priorities.

    2

    In-depth sessions

We meet - in person or online. We go through a series of questions and find your target audience, key messages, and preferred channels. We build a strategy plan the essential next steps.

    3

    Next steps

I can help you make the content that you need, as much or as little as you want. I can help with your website, newsletter, social media, printed flyers, promotional videos etc. If your story is newsworthy I can write it as a press release and, send it to the media, following up with phone calls to editors.

    What people say about me

"Alice brainstormed, produced and implemented our communications strategy, taking RUSS from a tiny start-up to a trusted authority on housing issues. She got us in the local, specialist, national and international media, suggested creative events, and hugely increased our social media following. I put our early and profound jump in visibility down to having that clear communications strategy."

Kareem Dayes, founder and former chair of RUSS

“I approached Alice when transitioning from a senior staff position in the broadcasting industry to self-employment. She really understood my goals. Alice encouraged me to tap into my creativity in different ways. She also advised on how to make new contacts and target future media opportunities.”
